This conference will be a great opportunity to come and hear from a range of keynote speakers on a number of topics aimed at keeping you, your business, and your colleagues safe from crime, abuse and other emerging threats.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will also allow for you to discuss the crime issues that affect your business, understand your experiences so we can ensure you get the best and most appropriate response, and explore opportunities to work together.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event is free to attend and lunch and refreshments will be provided. You are encouraged to come along and listen, interact, and learn something new from our speakers!\n\n\n\n\n\nThemes for the day:<\/strong>\n\n\n\n\n\nCounter Terrorism and Martins Law<\/strong>:\n\n\n\n\n\nHear from Counter Terror regional expert on how Martyn\u2019s law (formerly the protect duty) will impact on business, who will be in scope? how it will work? how and who will enforce it? and how business will be supported? Also, Local Authority leads in County Durham and Darlington will showcase the local perspective, the work being done to prepare and support available for your local business and organisation.\n\n\n\n\n\nDomestic abuse \u2013 protecting your colleagues and staff<\/strong>:\n\n\n\n\n\nPresentation from national key note speaker Fiona Bowman on the innovative ways in which business and employers can support their colleagues and staff who may be the victims of domestic violence and abuse. Hear from Durham County Council and their innovative approach to supporting their staff through their Domestic Abuse Champions network.\n\n\n\n\n\nProtecting your business from crime, abuse and anti-social behaviour, the importance of crime reporting and identify and managing offenders<\/strong>:\n\n\n\n\n\nA great chance to hear from keynote speaker Senior CO-OP National Lead and their approach to tackling violence and abuse against staff. We will also hear from senior Durham Police lead on the importance of reporting crime, and the National Business Crime Solutions model for co-ordination of efforts around tackling the most prolific offenders causing significant damage to retail business.\n\n\n\n\n\nCybercrime -the growing threat to business and organisations<\/strong>:\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin the NEBRC’s very own D. Insp Martin Wilson and his team of ethical hackers, to discuss how these crimes occur and the motivations of cyber criminals.
