The Cyber Resilience Centre for the West Midlands
The Cyber Resilience Centre for the West Midlands helps small and medium-sized businesses, charities, and public sector organisations improve their cyber security. Our services are led by UK policing and delivered in partnership with regional universities.
The Cyber Resilience Centre for the West Midlands is part of the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG), a not-for-profit organisation supported by the Home Office, policing and Ambassador partners.
Integral to NCRCG’S reach are nine regional Cyber Resilience Centres (CRCs). The CRC network was established to strengthen the cyber resilience and security of SMOs.
The Cyber Resilience Centre for the West Midlands, along with cyber resilience centres across England and Wales, provides cyber security guidance and practical support to help businesses strengthen their defences against cyber threats. Our services are backed by UK policing and delivered in partnership with trusted regional universities.

Michelle Ohren
Centre Director
Michelle has been in policing since 1996, joining CID since 1999, this has given her a wealth of experience in policing a variety of different crime types throughout the West Midlands. She has worked closely with other organisations and charities during these investigations to provide the necessary support to victims and developing new processes and best practice between organisations where needed. This has often meant supporting change both within policing and the partnership organisations, giving her the ability to develop long standing working relationships, which she brings to her role in the CRC.

Nick’s career began with forensic evidence discovery, working hands-on at crime scenes and within the Fingerprint Development Laboratory to uncover critical evidence. He later expanded his focus to Digital Forensics, specializing in data extraction from mobile devices to aid in criminal investigations. Beyond his police work, Nick’s digital forensic expertise has been in high demand across the private sector, where he has supported police forces, government agencies, and private clients alike. His work for both Prosecution and Defence teams underscores his commitment to precise and balanced digital evidence analysis. Outside of his professional life, Nick is a devoted family man. He loves cheering on his daughter at cheerleading competitions and equestrian events, while also being a regular at his son’s rugby matches. His passion for sports and cars, coupled with his family dedication, reflects the balanced approach he brings to his work and life.
